Craigslist personal ads

If you are a conservative commentator and are in need of evidence that homosexuals are just like Sodom and Gamorrah, just look at the "men seeking men" section of the Los Angeles Craigslist. Unless you've seen it, it is more horrifying and sad than you can imagine. It is all queries for short term sex and hook-ups, and every picture is a crotch shot. Looking at it makes me feel dirty and yet sad for all those for whom this is their version of intimacy.

So we decided to have fun with it. I posted an ad. The text was

Christian man seeks another man for a cup of tea and a chat about the weather or current events. Maybe with cake, if we're feeling extravagant. Later, Mike.

And I included a pic of me wearing a tie.

To my amazement, I received a wide variety of responses.

Some people thought it was double-entendre.

what a great ad -- certainly eyecatching. i think i'd be bold and order the cake.

Some responded with their standard Craigslist response. I apologize in advance for what follows:

And some seemed to have truly sincere responses; one might wonder why they were browsing Craigslist.
